BSA unlucky in defeat

Our Male First Team suffered a 2-1 defeat away from home against Calderdale this afternoon.

BSA controlled the first 15 minutes and deservedly took the lead, Billy Goose breaking the deadlock.

However, Calderdale responded well to going behind and found the equaliser before half-time.

BSA came out for the second half with purpose, creating a number of chances but they just couldn’t find the back of the net.

The boys were dealt a cruel blow against the run of play. A superb Calderdale strike 25-yards from goal proving to be the winner.

Manager Luke Forgione said: “I’m really pleased with the attitude, work ethic and intensity of our play.

“I’m disappointed we lost, but we could have easily won. Football is all about fine margins and unfortunately it wasn’t our day.”

BSA are in action on Wednesday in the last 16 of the ECFA Cup.
