Last week was #NAW2019 which celebrated the skills and experience that can be gained from doing an apprenticeship. We caught up with our Sport Apprentices to see how they’ve been getting on…

Level 2 Community Activator Coach apprentice Chris Wilson has been working with Penistone St Johns Primary School. As part of his apprenticeship he is tasked with improving sport within the school. This includes boosting the pupil’s physical education provision through trips, visits and after school clubs. Above he is pictured with the Year 3 and 4 football team at an all-girls South Yorkshire finals event which they won!

Aiden Tyas is a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Sports Development apprentice. Aiden runs his own personal training company and recently held his first Pilates session at the Honeywell Campus. The session went down well with the members!

Michael Woodhall is one of our newest apprentices enrolled on a Level 3 Community Sport and Health Officer Apprenticeship. Michael is now running his own football coaching sessions and enhancing his knowledge by assisting Sheffield United football coaches and delivering Primary School PE at Burton Road Primary School.
Finally, Seth Housley and Gasan Gindra from the Barnsley Combat Academy are enrolled on our Level 2 Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship. Whilst Tommy Crossland, also from the Combat Academy, is studying a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Sport Development. These apprentices deliver martial-arts training and often compete internationally in Kickboxing.
